December Script-Time: Strong, Firm an Steadfast

1st DECEMBER 2019

As we come to the end of the year, we start to reflect on the time that has just pasted. The highs, the lows and all the trials and tribulations we have gone through.

All the goals and plans we made for this year, some that have come to fruition and those that fell by the wayside for whatever reason.

I for one have had some amazing moments in 2019 and some really challenging moments also, I often asked God why is it that one area of my life could be going swimmingly well and then other areas being horrible at the same time!

Little did I know, the suffering, was all part of the journey with Christ and part of the process to prepare me for my next step. During the low’s and seasons of waiting, I realised that this is where we build strength, learn about ourselves and our behaviors, we learn patience, waiting and trusting God’s timing.

So even if all your plans and goals have not come through this year, or you have gone through an element of pain and suffering.

Still know that God is able and remember that His word will never return to him void!

Which leads me on to this months scripture….

Scripture:

10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

Ready for the next destination 👊🏾
1 Peter 5:10

Reflection:

What is your personal reflection?

This scripture for me is making it clear that we will suffer and suffering is inevitable, unavoidable and inescapable. Even suffering as a Christian is not a matter of choice, but a consequence of our faith in Christ. Therefore we are not immune either!

Although suffering is not something we relish, God has promised to strengthen and support us – to restore and establish us and to bring us into HIS eternal glory, in Christ.

Knowing that our suffering is limited in time makes it easier to bear.

If we know that it will come to an end we can put up with it for now, knowing that we will emerge strong, firm and steadfast!

Action:

What are your personal actions ?

Prayer:

Say your own personal prayer…. Spend some time talking to your Heavenly Father.

Loving Father, I am overwhelmed by Your kindness and grace, that has called me to share in your heavenly glory through Christ Jesus my Lord. I pray that I may walk worthy of You and not shrinking from the fiery trial of life, but that through them I will be firmly established in the faith and strengthened in Your Word, with my feet firmly fixed on the Rock of my salvation, as I walk out of 2019 and into 2020 in Jesus’ name I pray. AMEN.
